Avoid the Mess of a Cloth Diaper and Choose A Disposable Diaper
December 28th, 2008 Filed Under Diapers
For busy parents and active babies, its just not feasible to change a child’s diaper immediately after it is contaminated. Absorbency in a disposable diaper will remove a majority of the wetness leaving the skin dry and fresh. This will greatly reduce diaper rashes. This is important to your child’s health. More improved brands have even invented diapers that have mesh air paths to keep that area ventilated. Although it is highly recommended that a parent change a diaper as soon as possible after soiling, at least you know that the period of time that the wetness is unknown, the absorbency pads are protecting your baby’s soft skin.
If you can handle the mess of bowel movements in a cloth diaper, than many kudos to you. Most parents have a hard time dealing with the cleaning and soaking of cloth diapers, so as a matter of convenience, they choose to use a disposable diaper method. Yes, it costs more money, but it’s a small price to pay for such valuable time wasted. People also choose a disposable diaper over a cloth diaper because it’s hard to handle a soiled cloth diaper away from home. If a diaper becomes soiled at the market, you must place the cloth diaper into a bag and carry it with you until you are home. Most parents don’t even want to handle a disposable diaper for the few seconds it takes to get the diaper into a garbage compared to the possible hours it may take to get a soiled cloth diaper home.
Another benefit of using a disposable diaper is you don’t have to do extra laundry. Throw it away. It’s as simple as that. Imagine if your child has 10 dirty cloth diapers a day. That is an entire load of laundry that you must add to the loads you already have to wash. Not only must you wash them, the messy ones require soaking.
Either diaper method is fine, it really boils down to your budget and available time. Those that have the time for laundry, don’t mind the mess and want to save money, cloth diapers are obviously a better match for you. If spending the extra cash isn’t a problem or you can work it into your budget, a disposable diaper should meet your every need. Consider what is best for you baby. Choose a method that will be most comfortable for your child.
