Potty Training a Baby is Never Too Early

Baby to potty trainYou can start potty training a baby without trying too hard but do not expect to have a miniature grown-up rushing to his potty every time there is a need to use the toilet.

Elimination Communication

Potty training a baby can start before baby can walk or talk. Even a three month-old infant can be trained to schedule elimination time and as long as the baby is healthy, you can start his potty training now, towards the big day when he can sit on his potty (which is a while away yet).

Potty training your baby begins by observing his schedule, noting his body language and facial expressions before he trickles or soils his nappies.  When you are confident that you can read his signals correctly, start his potty training or rather be alert to his potty time.

To make things clear, there is no potty used here – the training is preparing him for the potty.

Communicating with your baby and being able to read his body language are crucial to your agenda of having a potty-ready baby by the time he can walk and talk.  Imitate his facial expression when he defecates or urinate and mimic the sounds he makes when he does scheduled elimination.  By watching you and hearing the sounds the baby, little as he is, will associate both with his potty time and expect you to be around when and if ever he is ready.

As he grows older and can sit with support, start with a real potty but do not rush him or scold him when he cannot do it properly or if he does not like to sit on the potty.  Stay cool when accidents happen and NEVER scold, or the potty becomes a monster to your baby.

Advantages of Infant Potty Training

Potting training a baby teaches baby control. It is amazing but a baby does learn it the natural way when you give him love, attention, and patience.  The bonding between you when training, is nurtured, so never give up and preen when your one-year old hits the potty like a pro.

It is toatally possible!!! I have an 8 and half month old daughter. I had been watching her and i can easily tell when she is doing to go potty, so Yesterday we bought her a potty chair. As soon as i seen she was going to go potty i took her diaper off and said “c’mon lets go potty!!” in a very happy voice. I sat her on her potty chair, and just like they were talking about in the article i started making the noises to her that she usally makes and sure enough she went, and not only pee!! :D and today, she has kept a dry diaper ever since she woke up this morning.. she has went potty 3 times today so far!! so i can truely say, watch for the signs your baby is ready, work with them, be consistent and nice, and it will work!! :D Good luck to everyone!!
